For those who may not know "Trail Desafío La Capitana" , it is a renowned trail race held annually in Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga, our municipality. This 2025, it was held on a Sunday, January 19th. This competition offers participants two challenging routes of 27, 17 and 11 kilometers, which combine stretches along the coast and technical climbs through the mountains, including emblematic points such as Cerro Salazar. This edition there were more than 745 participants, reflecting the popularity of this event held in our municipality. We had the pleasure of experiencing and living the race both from inside, with our competitor, Monica, and from within, as volunteers for the event. Starting from the early hours of the morning, the club collected its volunteers and began to head towards the indicated points on the route, watching the sun rise, with wonderful views of the countryside, refleting in green the rains of a few days before.
We were positioned in such a way that we could see the short and long distance runners passing by and had time to go down to cheer on the runners who were already heading towards the finish line. Many of you will recognise us by our evil nun...
After the sweeper passed, we went to the finish line where they were holding the trophy ceremony with the arrival of the runners. There we met many friends from the municipality, club colleagues and colleagues from local sports clubs. There was our maquina, Mónica, after completing the "short" distance route, enjoying the post-finish line. She completed the 17 KM route with + 800m of elevation in just over 2h 15min, placing herself in First Local Female. For us Monica is a clear example of local female sport, the most impressive thing about her great race, was her smiling every time we saw her. It is a great pleasure to have people like her in our club.
We would also like to thank the Rincón de la Victoria Athletics Club for organizing this race every year and we hope it continues like this for a long time, the City Council for its constant collaboration with sports activities of all kinds in our municipality, and all the other local clubs and volunteer groups for giving time on their day off to support local sport.

We hope to see you readers in the 2026 edition of the race, or in their summer special, La Jábega.
